DACA Water Polo 14 & Under Team Strong at West Valley & Pacific League Tournaments
The DACA 14 & Under Water Polo Team played two torunaments this past weekend (January 28-29). On Saturday, January 28th, the DACA 14's went undefeated in the West Valley Tournament, capturing first place. Fraham Schmelzer and Ohsun Kwon played excellent defense, keeping the opposiing team off balance and reventing the 2 meter players from scoring. Aaron White scored multiple golas in each game to keep DACA in the lead throughout the tournament. In the Championship game, West Valley could not keep up with the DACA counterattack or crack the staunch DACA defense. DACA took a commanding lead by half and never let up.
The DACA 14 & Under team finished up their winter tournament series in the Pacific Leauge on Sunday, January 29th. The first game was against the SHARKS, a team DACA had lost to twice before. The boys came out strong with a new defense, which the SHARKS could not figure out. The DACA boys had an impressive game, following the lead of offensive power house Mason Lee and stellar goaltending by Abhinav Patel, beating the SHARKS 13-6. DACA's second game was against Larmoinda B, which DACA beat easily because of a great performance at 2 meter by Phillip Wang. DACA's last game was against Satnford's 14 & Under team. Although they lost the game, they played much better as a team and continue to do better each time against their Nor Cal rival.

DACA Water Polo Teams Compete at the 2011 Junior Olympics!
The 2011 Water Polo Junior Olympics was a first for the 12&under DACA age group program this year.
The competition was intense, giving many of our members firsthand experience in an elite level of play,
and taking on teams such as San Diego Shores. Highlights of the team would be the outside shooting
of Tony Cassacia, the 2 meter defense of Corey Tanis, the 2 meter offense of David Mckenna, and the
outstanding goalkeeping of Kenneth Tang.
The 16 and 18 and under teams made an appearance worth noting as well. The 16 and under team took
13th overall in their division, led by the coaching of Mike Hendrickson, while the 18 and under team took
the 2nd place spot in their division.
