When should I submit my withdrawal request?

Accepted Answer

A. All withdrawal requests are due by the 25th of the month prior to when you would like to stop. For example, if you would like to stop from May 1st onwards, the online form is due by April 25th.

B. If you would like to do a mid-month withdrawal, the deadline is still the 25th of the month prior. The effective date will be the week following the last class you would like to attend.

What happens when my child misses a class?

Effective March 1st, 2026, DACA will offer four make-up classes per 365 days, per student.  A minimum of 48 hours’ notice for class cancellations and make‑up requests is appreciated; however, cancellations may be requested up to seven days prior to the scheduled class.  Make-up classes will not be issued after a class has started or for past classes. All make-up classes must be used within 30 days from the date they are issued.

When does my child get to the next level?

Since every child learns skills differently, there is no way to quantify progress. All levels have a certain set of skills that need to be achieved in order to move up to the next level. Once the instructor has seen the student complete the requirements consistently, they will award them the ribbon. If you would like an update on the child’s progress towards earning the next ribbon, please speak to a Deck Supervisor before your child’s class.

Why does the instructor keep changing?

Unfortunately, circumstances arise when instructors call out, go on vacation or are out sick. In the event your instructor is not in, DACA will provide a substitute instructor for the class. If you feel that consistency is an issue, please check for alternate availability in the office.

Question 5

Do you offer Private and Semi-Private lessons?

DACA currently offers private classes with limited availability. Please check for available private classes through our online registration portal labeled as Private [Level] or contact our office for assistance.

Question 6

Can I place my spot on hold while I am gone for a certain amount of time?

Accepted Answer

Your enrollment guarantees your spot in the class that you have registered for. If you are leaving for any time period, we recommend withdrawing and re-enrolling upon return to avoid charging for classes you cannot attend. If you want to keep your spot or do not follow the withdrawal process, we will continue to charge for your lessons regardless of your attendance.

Does DACA offer Make-up classes?

Can I have a male/female instructor?

While we can try to match you with an instructor of your preference, please keep in mind that your chosen instructor is not guaranteed. If they cannot come in for their shift for whatever reason, a substitute (same gender is not guaranteed) will be provided for the class.

Are the pools heated?

Yes, both pools are heated from 89-91 ° F all year round.

Question 10

What kind of equipment do we need for our first day?

On the first day of class your child should come prepared with a comfortable and well-fittingswimsuit, goggles, and towel. If you would like to shower and change after your class, please bring your personal hygiene products as well.

Does DACA have showers available?

Accepted Answer

Our facility has showers available to rinse off on the pool deck and individual showers in the bathroom. They are first come first serve and families will need to bring their own personal hygiene products and towels.

Question 12

Does DACA offer a free trial class?

Accepted Answer

We do not offer an in-water evaluation or trial class for the swim school. Please utilize the Find My Level feature to get an accurate sense of where the child should enroll into. If any adjustments need to be made on the first class, the Deck Supervisor will communicate them to you. We do offer Splash Classes which are drop-in classes based on availability. Please contact the office on the day you would like to swim to check availability for your child’s level.
